Wang Zhongyu, President of China Enterprise Confederation, said at the 2019 National Enterprise Management Innovation Conference held in Beijing that in 2020, China's manufacturing industry accounted for 15.6% of the total value of the global manufacturing industry, becoming the world's second largest industrial manufacturing country after the United States. But China's manufacturing industry is large but not strong, and most enterprises are still at the bottom of low added value in the industrial chain.
According to the statistics report of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, in 2019, China's share of the world's industrial output reached 15.6%, Japan's 15.4%, and the United States still ranks the first in the world with 19% share. According to the data, China's crude steel output is 568 million tons, accounting for 47% of the world's total, cement production and sales are 1.65 billion tons, accounting for more than 60% of the world's total, and port throughput is 7 billion tons, accounting for more than 50% of the world's total.
